More than 22,000 young people could be homeless or at risk of being made homeless in England this Christmas.

We can only imagine how scared, hungry and alone these young people must feel. So in light of this frightening statistic, and as the main sponsor for the YMCA Sleep Easy Challenge next year, we’ve decided to kickstart our fundraising activities by donating our £250 Christmas card fund to Sutton Coldfield YMCA.

Every year at PLOTT, we donate the money that would otherwise be spent on Christmas cards to an amazing charity. This year we have chosen the Sutton Coldfield YMCA that helps keep local young people off the streets.

Next March the entire PLOTT team will be swapping our beds for boxes for the YMCA Sleep Easy challenge and sleeping rough for the night in Gracechurch shopping centre. We’re urging other local businesses to do the same to raise awareness and help tackle the issue of youth homelessness here in Sutton Coldfield.

So if you’re looking to spread some festive cheer, please do consider sponsoring us, or indeed joining us next March!

How do you get involved?

We have created 4 sponsor packages for local businesses, including Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce members, to support the local YMCA charity to help transform the lives of disadvantaged young people in the town.

The ambitions of the charity is to get more than 200 people to brave hard floors and freezing temperatures in Gracechurch Shopping Centre on Friday March 27th. And we are equally as ambitious hoping to raise over £2000 from the generosity of our clients and local businesses.

Do remember if you are a limited company, donating to charity means you PAY LESS CORPORATION TAX. See the GOV.UK information here.

Plus you’ll be generating a real feel-good factory around your business. So a win/win situation all round 🙂

Our Packages

We’ve been creative with our packages and always look to promote all our sponsors at any opportunity in return for your support and generosity.

Download our sponsor pack here.

We have also set up a Virgin Giving page if you’d prefer to donate online or anonymously. Whether you’d like to donate more or less than our suggestions, every little bit will help the young people affected by homelessness.

The event aims to bring businesses and local members of the community together to raise awareness but to also have fun. Headlining the event will be the talented Carrick Music, plus food stalls and other fundraising activities. Even if you can’t sleep out, we invite you to come along and support us raise awareness.

With the YMCA Sutton Coldfield being the Chamber of Commerce’s nominated local charity, we’re hoping to smash this target! We love getting involved with charity challenges that are close to our hearts and youth homelessness is a very pressing social issue we feel passionate about helping at PLOTT.

How YMCA help youth homelessness?

YMCA Sutton Coldfield has hosted Sleep Easy nights since 2009 and last year raised over £13k, transforming the lives of disadvantaged young people in Sutton Coldfield. Money raised paid for 1-2-1 support, mentoring and coaching for young carers and residents in crisis as well as much needed practical items such as mattresses, bedding and a daily breakfast for people staying at the local charity.

The charity, which works with over 1000 young people and their families each year, not only provides accommodation to prevent youth homelessness but also provides crucial support and respite services for young carers and disabled children and adults.

We’re urging all local businesses to join us by taking part in the Sleep Easy Challenge on Friday 27th March in the Gracechurch Shopping Centre and sleep rough, so others don’t have too.

We have a great track record for helping raise money for worthy causes having previously fundraised for John Taylor Hospice, Our Place and The Teenage Cancer Trust and raised thousands in the process.

Please be generous and do get in touch if you’d like to donate or take part!

One night can make a lifetime of difference.
