Anyone who knows PLOTT Creative know we love to support our friends and local community in their charitable ventures.

And in May this year, treading in the footsteps of pioneering Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and Kiwi climber Sir Edmund Hillary, Coleshill-born Alex Warner is competing in the Everest Marathon.

The Everest Marathon is the highest and one of the most challenging marathons in the world. Starting at Base Camp, the 26.2 mile course sees runners descend nearly 2000 metres, weaving their way through the formidable trekking trails of the Himalayan Sagarmatha National Park to finish in the town of Namche Bazaar.

Alex is racing to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, in memory of friend Tom Comfort who sadly passed away of a heart condition aged just 21.

“I shared a childhood with Tom and I’m sure he would approve of such a silly adventure!”

PLOTT’s own Anna and Richard grew up next door to Alex and his family, and have known Alex since he was just 4 years old! 25 years down the line, they are proud to sponsor Alex in his biggest challenge yet.

“Having competed the Arctic Marathon myself nearly 10 years ago, I know what a huge achievement this will be. We’ll certainly be with Alex in spirit and helping him support such a wonderful local cause.” ANNA PLOTNEK
