On Wednesday 21st Nov I was back at my old school and rather than worrying about being told off by the teachers, I turned to the dark side and joined forces with them….

I was incredibly proud to be part of The Coleshill School’s inaugural students Careers Fair. It was a huge success and meant a lot to be representing PLOTT Creative.

I joined 15 other high profile local businesses including Evans Derry, PS Consulting, Sertec and BMW, plus a range of local colleges and universities to support the event.

The room was abuzz all day with pupils taking a keen interest in the many career and training opportunities available.

As the PLOTT team are creative specialists, I decided to take a different approach in capturing the students attention and extended our colouring competition to win a delicious PLOTT chocolate advent calendar.

As the illustrations for the competition were designed by another talented ex Coleshill School pupil Sabina Gran, it seemed the perfect place to challenge the students creative skills. The competition was simultaneously run across PLOTT social media channels.

I was honestly delighted by the skills and enthusiasm of everyone I spoke to. I guess as a proud ex-pupil who now runs a local successful business I was keen to share some of my experience and inspire (even in a small way) anyone who wants to try their hand at design.

I was truly overwhelmed by both the love for our chocolate advent calendar and the talent at the fair. It’s inspiring to see creative skills at such a young age. There were so many entries it was impossible to pick just one. So, I’m delighted to announce 2 winners, one from the school entries and one from social media.

The winners are Coleshill School student Darcie:

And from social media Laura from Lowe Sawyer Financial Advisers:

A huge well done to all who entered the competition and to everyone who participated in the Careers Fair. I’m glad to give something back to my old school, although I don’t miss the toilets!
